It is often said, “The world is your oyster”, and television personality Zanele Potelwa is proving this to be true.
Known for her vibrant energy and bubbly personality, she has proven time again that there is not much that she cannot do, from entertaining viewers weekday mornings on the S3 breakfast show Expresso, to grabbing the microphone on 5FM – and not to forget living the life on Tropika Island of Treasure she is truly someone to be reckoned with.
Recently, the 31-year-old media has had to update her resume once again after being acknowledged as “The Next Big Thing” at the South African Style Awards.
Speaking about what this has meant to her, she said:
“I feel so blessed; God has been so good to me. I have prayed for all these amazing opportunities that are now taking place in my life, and I do not take them for granted.
She continued, “I hope you stay on this beautiful entertainment journey with me because you are who I do it all for, and of course, to honour God with the gifts that He has given me.”
At the rate she is going, it is funny to think that none of this would have happened had she not changed her mind about her career.
In a previous interview with BONA, she shared that her initial dream was to become a doctor.
“The dream was always to be a doctor because I wanted to help people, but when I got to varsity, I got to understand that there are so many different ways to help people,” she revealed.
Speaking of her current success, she later said: “It genuinely is my dream come true but on an even bigger scale. I feel like I’m living in my purpose, and I hope to make more and more of a difference as I make my way to being a household name in this beautiful country that I love.”
