Royal AM head coach John Maduka has revealed his side’s positive aspects ahead of a tough fixture against Mamelodi Sundowns in the midweek.
Thwihli Thwahla are yet to taste a victory in all competitions this season.
They have drawn all their opening four games in the Betway Premiership and suffered a defeat to Cape Town City in the first round of the Carling Knockout Cup over the past weekend.
Meanwhile, the Brazilians seem to have rebounded from the MTN8 disappointing exit with five consecutive victories across all competitions.
Maduka acknowledged the daunting challenge of facing ambitious Sundowns but expressed confidence in Royal AM’s readiness due to their decision to rest key players in their previous match against Cape Town City.
He believes these rested players will be fresh and ready to face Sundowns on Wednesday.
WHY JOHN MADUKA IS CONFIDENT AHEAD MAMELODI SUNDOWNS FIXTURE
“Regarding the sundowns game, very difficult game, playing away from home, we’re happy that we rested most of the players that I think will change the team to make sure that we bring fresh legs and we hope that those fresh legs will help the team against sundowns,” said Maduka.
“But we know that we’re going to do a very, very difficult game. It’s a team that wants to win the league again. So it’s not going to be easy.
“It’s very important for us to be ready. And those that didn’t play, they know that they have to be ready.
“We have to be ready to make sure that by Wednesday, we’re ready for the game.
“You know, I mean, they have quality. They have quality that they’re capable of scoring goals. So yeah, looking forward.
It’s a league game. It’s not like a cup game. We have to be smart going to there.”
