Following the resignation of Sead Ramovic, Victor Letsoalo has disclosed the different style of play that will be adopted by TS Galaxy under the new coach.
Ramovic left his role as the head coach of Galaxy after a dismal start to the 2024/25 Betway Premiership season. The German-born tactician resigned on live TV after his side played to a 1-1 draw against Stellenbosch FC a fortnight ago in the league.
The Rockets have had a challenging start to the new season, which saw them fail to register a victory in six matches in the league. Galaxy are sitting 16th on the league table with two points after suffering four defeats and playing two draws.
TS Galaxy were also eliminated from the Carling Knockout Cup after suffering a 1-0 defeat to Magesi FC in the quarter-final at Mbombela Stadium a fortnight ago.
In the previous campaign, the Mpumalanga-based side made it to the final of the Carling Cup, where they lost 5-4 on penalties against Stellenbosch.
Meanwhile, Galaxy lost key players such as Fiacre Ntwari, Lehlogonolo Mojela, Pogiso Sanoka, and Samir Nurkovic, seemingly affecting the club’s impressive form from last season. This is one of the reasons Ramovic left the club.
On the other hand, Galaxy have confirmed that Adnan Beganovic will take over the coaching role from Ramovic. Beganovic served as an assistant coach to Ramovic in the past three years.
Ramovic has since penned a deal with Tanzanian football powerhouse Yanga SC as their new head coach.
LETSOALO REVEALS THAT TS GALAXY WILL PLAY DIRECT FOOTBALL UNDER THE NEW COACH
With Beganovic looking to turn the corner at Galaxy, the club’s striker Victor Letsoalo has revealed that the new coach will play direct football and do away with the position-based football which was played under the previous coach – Ramovic.
“I think most of the things on the team will be consistent with what our previous coach has done; it’s just a matter of getting combinations and formations right,” Letsoalo told FARPost.
“We just have to get the idea of scoring goals because football is about goals, so right now, our coach wants us to go direct, but at first, we were playing positional football but not getting goals. Now we are training direct football and hope that we’ll start winning.”
Meanwhile, Beganovic’s first game at the helm as Galaxy coach will be in the league on Tuesday, 26 November, against Sekhukhune United at the Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane.
