Singer, Thandeka Nontobeko Ngema popularly known as MaWhoo has recently revealed the deeper meaning behind her new hit, Uzizwa Kanjani.

The song has been received well by mzansi, and it has gained popularity on the social media platforms, with internet users making break up challenges about it.

In a plot twist, as much as the lyrics of the song expresses a feeling of being hurt, betrayed or wronged, it is not about an ex romantic lover. MaWhoo revealed to Daily Sun that she was expressing her hurt to her absent father.

The Moya Wasendulo singer shared that she was raised by a single mother, and has never met her father.

“It is not about being heart broken from a relationship, but also about being raised without a father. That pain of saying, I’m here today and I was only raised by my mom and things are happening,” she said.

However, the lyrics of the song can also be used to express frustration of being hurt by an ex partner, as it explores the complexities of relationships, highlighting themes of love, betrayal, and the search for understanding.

MaWhoo also took to her Instagram page to share that Uzizwa Kanjani is a number one song, and also revealed that she had a multi platinum plaque for Ngilimele.

TikTok users used the lyrics of the songs, and turned them into a challenge where conversations between ex partners are shared.
