The South African Police Service (SAPS) has initiated a high-priority search after three SAPS constables went missing while travelling from Bloemfontein to their deployment area in Limpopo. Authorities are working around the clock to locate the missing officers, who were last seen near the Grasmere toll plaza along the N1 highway.
Last known location for missing SAPS constables
The missing SAPS constables—24-year-old Constable Cebekhulu Linda, 30-year-old Constable Keamogetswe Buys, and 20-year-old Constable Boipelo Senoge—were last spotted on Wednesday at the Engen garage near the toll plaza. According to police reports, they were driving a white VW Polo sedan with the registration number JCL 401 FS when they disappeared.
SAPS Appeals for Public Assistance
SAPS has asked the public to provide any information that might assist in locating the missing SAPS constables.
“The SAPS confirmed that the members were off duty at the time of their disappearance and never arrived at their destination in Limpopo,” a police spokesperson emphasised.
The Service stressed that time is critical in cases involving missing persons, particularly when police officers are involved.
Authorities have deployed specialised units to search the surrounding areas, while surveillance footage from nearby locations is being reviewed. The police remain hopeful that public tip-offs could lead to a breakthrough in the case.
Growing concern and community support
Communities along the N1 and beyond have been urged to remain vigilant and to report any sightings of the officers or their vehicle immediately.
“Anyone who may have information on their whereabouts is encouraged to call the investigating officer, Captain Chaacha Manga on 082 527-6099,” SAPS reiterated.
