Europe’s first Universal theme park
Bedford in the United Kingdom (UK) is set to be the new home of Europe’s first-ever Universal Studios theme park.
According to Travel News, construction is projected to begin next year, with the theme park expected to open in 2031.
The UK Government revealed that the park will likely become the largest visitor attraction in the country, drawing an estimated 8.5 million guests in its first year. It also estimates that the park will generate £50 billion (R1.25 billion) for the country’s economy by 2055.
What’s to be expected?
Well, according to BBC, the 192ha site just south of Bedford, will include a state-of-the-art theme park featuring Universal’s signature immersive storytelling, thrilling rides and cutting-edge attractions.
Some of these attractions are likely to feature James Bond, Paddington, The Lord of the Rings, as well as a Back to the Future ride, if the rumours are to be believed.
