Uber has announced new passenger and luggage guidelines for all ride options in South Africa, aimed at improving comfort, safety, and trip efficiency for riders and drivers alike.

While luggage is permitted across all Uber ride types, the new guidelines place passenger limits based on the size and type of vehicle.

The company noted that while these are general recommendations, riders are encouraged to communicate directly with their driver if there are any uncertainties regarding space and luggage.

“These new guidelines are designed to help ensure that every trip goes smoothly – whether you’re travelling solo or with a group,” said Uber South Africa in an official statement this week.

“Comfort and safety are our priorities, especially when luggage is involved.”
