One of Mzansi’s biggest pop stars has once again proven why she is a force to be reckoned with when it comes to cementing her position at the highest level of music.

Following what was a successful 2024, the year 2025 is proving to be no different as she has now landed herself the World Artist of the Year award at the iHeart Radio Awards which took place on Monday.

The awards evening celebrates the most played artists and songs that have hit the iHeart Radio frequencies in 2024 while giving a sneak peek into the hit songs 2025 might present.

The award ceremony took place at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles and was hosted by veteran rapper and actor James Todd Smith, better known by his stage name LL Cool J.

The evening saw Tyla beat fellow African Burna Boy, Central Cee, Tems, and YG Marley to win the top award.

Meanwhile, the 23-year-old was also nominated in two other categories. These included R&B Song of the Year for Water and Dance Song of the Year for her remix of Water with Marshmello.

While she was unable to physically attend the event, fans from all over the world took the opportunity to celebrate the major achievement.

In recent weeks the amapiano pop star has had lots to keep herself busy with.
