Orlando Pirates have reportedly taken a major decision on the future of one of the club’s defenders.

The Buccaneers are building a formidable squad, however that also means there will be casualties.

The club are chasing Stellenbosch star Fawaaz Basadien’s signature, putting the futures of their current left-backs in doubt.

Orlando Pirates to extend Mako’s contract

According to the latest transfer gossip from Mayfair, Paseka Mako’s contract will be extended regardless of whether Orlando Pirates manage to sign Basadien or not.

Mako has made 24 appearances under Jose Riveiro this season and is the first choice left-back at the club currently.

The diminutive defender will receive a two-year contract extension, according to Soccer Laduma.

Furthermore, the publication suggests captain Innocent Maela may be on his way out at the club if Basadien joins.
