CHIPPA UNITED KEEN TO SIGN ORLANDO PIRATES MIDFIELDER

Orlando Pirates could activate another deal to the benefit of Betway Premiership side Chippa United.

On the eve of the 2024/25 season, the Gqeberha-based club signed the 21-year-old Azola Matrose on a permanent deal from the Sea Robbers. The 24-year-old Siphelo Baloni soon followed the same path but on a loan deal.

With six games played, including a goal and an assist, Chippa are reportedly determined to sign the Orlando Pirates midfielder on a permanent deal.

“With the club now, they are already looking at how to have a strong, well-balanced squad next season and that’s why they are looking at keeping Siphelo (Baloni) beyond his loan deal next year,” a source told Soccer Laduma.

“The coaches are happy with him. You know he has only missed one league game and that was against Orlando Pirates because there is an agreement that he can’t play against them. That just shows you how important he is to the team and that’s why they want to keep him longer.

“The club would be happy if they can buy him outright, but you know Pirates would have loaned him out because they want him to gain experience, and that’s why Chippa is also looking for a second term loan after the June 2025 expiry date. They are really happy with him, and they will do all they can to keep him,” the report added.
