Kaizer Chiefs are pondering a reunion with two former players while a key new operator will miss upcoming Betway Premiership clashes.

Chiefs regret letting Dithejane go

According to SoccerLaduma, Amakhosi are closely following Puso Dithejane’s performance with TS Galaxy. The former academy product from Naturena has thrived in the number 10 role for Sead Ramovic’s side.

According to the same publication, Thato Khiba is also a wanted man. The 28-year-old TS Galaxy defender is a versatile operator and Orlando Pirates have registered an interest and are willing to loan players out in order to facilitate a deal in January. Carling Knockout holders Stellenbosch are also keen on the former Chiefs DDC player.

Zero clean sheets and plenty of time to wait and think

When was the last time Kaizer Chiefs kept a clean sheet? We’ll tell you, It was back in May against Polokwane City in the 2023-2024 season. Nabi’s new side hasn’t kept a single shutout this entire season, across all competitions. Yes, individuals Dortley and Miguel have looked good, but the collective unit still isn’t functioning properly. Angolan star Miguel will miss upcoming Betway Prem clashes with Richards Bay and Royal AM after his dismissal against Sundowns in the 0-4 Carling Knockout hammering.

New manager sooner than expected?

The long wait for silverware at Kaizer Chiefs continues after their 0-4 hammering at the hands of Mamelodi Sundowns in the Carling Knockout quarter-finals. There’s a long beak until the Glamour Boys continue their Betway Premiership campaign; next up is the visit of Richards Bay on the 27th of November. Only five league encounters remain in the calendar year of 2024. The Amakhosi board haven’t exactly been shy to sack managers in recent seasons and the new manager could already be worrying about his job before the turn of the year.

Final five fixtures of 2024

After a strong start, the Glamour Boys dropped valuable points in recent league encounters. They lost 1-0 to SuperSport and managed only a 2-2 draw with new boys Magesi. That’s before they got unceremoniously dumped out of the Carling Knockout by Sundowns in a demoralising 4-0 defeat.
