The South African Weather Service issued a warning for severe thunderstorms in the parts of Free State, Mpumalanga, and Gauteng.

The weather service has advised residents to be alert for severe thunderstorms that may bring heavy downpours, considerable amounts of small hail, strong damaging winds, and excessive lightning. These conditions could lead to localized flooding in vulnerable areas such as settlements, roads, and low-lying regions; damage to properties; and disruptions to municipal services.

These impacts are expected in the northeastern parts of the Free State, western parts of Mpumalanga, and eastern parts of Gauteng.
