THREE starlets catch Orlando Pirates’ attention – Here’s who

Orlando Pirates look to right their wrongs following a head-scratching January transfer window.

The Buccaneers, linked with several stars like Polokwane pair Oswin Appollis and Thabang Matuludi, made no signings in the summer amid a Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns spending spree.

It will be a defining offseason for Orlando Pirates, who continue to close the gap on Sundowns’ supremacy. Some additional firepower to an already well-oiled team could be the boost they need.

Three youngsters have caught Orlando Pirates attention:

Junior Zindoga

Gallant’s striker Junior Zindoga has been electric since joining the Limpopo outfit in the summer, piquing the interest of several suitors, including Orlando Pirates.

“The boy has been impressive, and Pirates are one of the clubs monitoring him,” SoccerLaduma stated. “His physical presence upfront and his high work-rate have made him a standout.”

Jaedin Rhodes

The Cape Town City youngster has been heavily linked with Orlando Pirates, who will likely make another move in the winter after an unsuccessful attempt in January.

“He (Rhodes) has been one of their (Pirates’) targets for some time now,” SoccerLaduma reported.

“They have been monitoring him though there hasn’t been much happening. They were targeting him for the January transfer window period.

“Now that it didn’t happen they have more time to work on it and will see what happens in the next window. But they are interested in him. That I can tell you.”

Andrew Phiri

Zambian striker Andrew Phiri is another starlet Orlando Pirates are monitoring. The FC MUZA frontman has been making a name for himself in Zambia, where he is one of their most promising prospects.

“Andrew Phiri is one of the many strikers they are currently looking at. He is not that old and comes from Zambia,” a source confirmed.
