The South African Police Service (SAPS) has added a third suspect to the list of wanted individuals linked to the brutal murder of 30-year-old Olorato Mongale.
Police have officially named Bongani Mthimkhulu, a friend of suspect Philangenkosi Sibongokuhle Makhanya, as a wanted man in the Mongale murder case.
SAPS confirmed that circulated images show Mthimkhulu wearing a white top and believe he played a role in the murder.
His name joins that of Makhanya and Fezile Ngubane, who remain at large as police intensify efforts to locate all three men.
SAPS urges public not to engage
SAPS considers all three suspects dangerous and urges the public not to approach them under any circumstances.
“Do not engage if you see them,” warned authorities, who instead encourage the public to immediately contact Brigadier Nama at +27 (82) 778-9035.
The murder investigation has now entered what SAPS describes as a “critical and sensitive stage.”
Officers are working around the clock following new leads and tip-offs from the public.
Appreciation for Public Cooperation
SAPS has extended thanks to members of the public and victims who have already come forward with information.
Brigadier Nama praised those who provided updates on the suspects’ movements. He said their cooperation is vital to the ongoing investigation.
Police are following up on evidence after recovering the VW Polo allegedly used in Olorato Mongale’s murder.
Forensic experts found blood traces inside the vehicle at a panel beater workshop in Durban.
Would you contact the police if you recognised one of the suspects, even if they were your friend or family member?
