Orlando Pirates coach Jose Riveiro will reunite with former player Thembinkosi Lorch.
The Spaniard was voted as Carling All-Stars coach for the upcoming clash against Carling Knockout Champions Magesi FC. The match is set to take place at the Orlando Stadium on Saturday afternoon at 15:30.
Riveiro coached Lorch for nearly two years at Orlando Pirates before the 31-year-old winger joined Mamelodi Sundowns.
“Happy to see him again, he’s an important player… in South Africa, he has been really unlucky with injuries and it’s an opportunity for him to find himself on the field,” Riveiro said as per iDiski Times.
Lorch to play under Orlando Pirates coach Riveiro
“We’re going to try to make him feel comfortable again and hopefully he can enjoy some minutes and everyone knows the type of player Lorch is.”
“I’m going to be happy if he can have a good time in Orlando again,” Riveiro said about Lorch.
‘Nyoso’ spent nine years with the Sea Robbers before leaving for Masandawana in January this year. The former Bafana Bafana star has struggled with injuries which has limited his game time.
Under Riveiro, Lorch only featured regularly at Orlando Pirates towards the end of 2023. Having rediscovered his form, the 31-year-old made a shock move to Chlorkop to reunite with Rulani Mokwena. With Sundowns having changed coaches twice, it seems less likely that Nyoso will shine in Brazilian colours.
Are you looking forward to watching Lorch?
