IOL reports that EFF spokesperson Mbuyiseni Ndlozi is planning on leaving the party for uMkhonto weSizwe MK Party.
According to a source who spoke to the Daily News, Ndlozi and Julius Malema’s relationship is irreparable. Another source claimed that most members of the EFF are not happy about the politician’s planned exit.
MBUYISENI NDLOZI PLANNING TO LEAVE EFF
The report on 23 December 2024, reveals that Ndlozi had already made up his mind to leave EFF. One of the leaders in KwaZulu-Natal told the publication: “We have known for a long time that Ndlozi is planning to dump the EFF in favour of the uMkhonto weSizwe Party (MKP). That is what led to the strained relationship between him and the party leader, Julius Malema. Their relationship is now irreparable,” said an EFF leader in KwaZulu-Natal.”
‘WE ARE NOT HAPPY’
Another source reportedly said EFF leaders and members are not happy about Ndlozi leaving the party.
“The fact is that Ndlozi is well on his way out from the party. And he has made up his mind. His absence from the NPA speaks volumes about the growing animosity between him and Malema. It is unclear what came between the two leaders as they were once joined at the hip, especially during Ndlozi’s tenure as the spokesperson of the party. We are not happy as party members and leaders.”
THE ‘PEOPLE’S BAE’
Ndlozi, who was eventually given the name the ‘People’s Bae,’ has been one of the most loved faces in politics since he joined the EFF. A political analyst has reiterated this point and shared that Ndlozi had offered the party credibility. Thobani Zikalala said:
“He has mass appeal, and he is one of the most lovable EFF leaders. [Ndlozi] seems to have a relationship with the ground forces of the party. He offers intellectual credence and credibility to the EFF.”
Ndlozi broke his silence for the first time earlier this month after weeks of speculation. The South African reported on 16 December 2024, that he congratulated the newly-elected EFF leaders through a post on X.
He also recently defended Malema after reports that the EFF was declining when compared to other ruling parties, and also wrote about the mass exodus of some of its top leaders.
