Another day, another scandalous moment in the world of pageantry as the darker side of the Miss Universe extravaganza with damning footage as well as some eyebrow-raising words from participants begin to surface following the historic finale where continental titles debuted.

Following reigning Miss SA Mia Le Roux’s unexpected withdrawal from Miss Universe contention, whether fueled by concern or spite, some South Africans took to social media to voice concern or suspicion of foul play regarding the situation. Their suspicions continue to grow as more evidence of questionable instances and testimonies start to pile in.

Amid the chaos and controversy, Miss Universe Fiji Manshika Prasad who was Mia’s roommate during the Miss Universe prelims has spoken out and encouraged other contestants to unite and call out how problematic the competition was for them. According to Manshika, the experience was the opposite of empowering for her and some of her peers, emphasizing that based on her experience, she would not even let her own daughter participate in the pageant under the same management.

This, paired with Miss Universe Africa and Oceania Chdimma Adetshina announcing upon her return home that this was “the end of the road” for her in terms of pageantry and that she would be exploring other avenues. Although she is proud of her outstanding achievements, she expressed feeling fulfilled with how far her talent and confidence have taken her.

A separate dodgy-looking video where the Miss Universe top five are going through their touch-ups during a break has surfaced, however, the video shows Chidimma, the only black contestant in the top five, being left out and having no one by her side to assist with her hair and make-up.

Although context could be missing, some users are convinced that things are exactly as they seem in the video.
