Despite being one of the most followed reality stars and businesswomen, Shauwn ‘MaMkhize’ Mkhize disappeared from the spotlight amid her woes with the South African Revenue Service (Sars).
No doubt netizens have been trying to connect about MaMkhize’s whereabouts. With millions of followers across social media, MaMkhize often trends whenever she posts or gets posted.
SHAUWN MKHIZE’S WOES WITH SARS
She is trending after Sars put her football club, Royal AM, up for sale to recoup a R40 million debt. In recent years, MaMkhize has been dragged to the courts for unpaid taxes and debts.
However, last year, the taxman tracked down the business mogul and raided her Durban mansion after she failed to comply with court orders.
The taxman revealed that the raid was part of its ‘effort to combat tax evasion and criminal activities that undermine the country’s economy.’
Against the raid, Sars also went after her club, which was recently listed for sale. According to reports, over five bidders showed interest in the club.
Some prominent figures that submitted their bids include DJ Black Coffee and MK Party’s Member of Parliament David Skosana.
The former football administrator confirmed his R15 million bid to the media. He believes the bid was not good enough to win.
Rumour mill has it that Joe Sibanyoni, an unmanned DRC business tycoon and a Greek businessman, also bid for Royal AM.
With a new owner already on the cards, MaMkhize has been off the hook and hasn’t made public appearances for a while.
WHERE IS MAMKHIZE NOW?
With many trying to connect the dots about her whereabouts, the publication has noted that MaMkhize has been off social media for a while. Her last Instagram post was on 8 January 2025.
Her last post discussed the club’s failure to pay salaries and Sars’ curatorship. The press release also updated fans and stakeholders about the club’s woes.
Part of her shared press release reads, “The club’s management team, led by our CEO and General Manager, has been working diligently with the curator to secure the necessary permissions to release funds for salary payments.
“It has always been the ethos of Royal AM to prioritise the well-being of our personnel, and we remain dedicated to upholding that principle despite the current challenges.”
Surprisingly, she snubbed her son and club chairman across social media feeds, which had become her norm in recent years. She hasn’t been spotted in the public spotlight since 2024.
