Multi-award-winning singer Thandiswa Mazwai is eager to let her music move crowds as she gears towards going on an international tour.

In the build-up to her highly anticipated Umbelelo thanksgiving concert which takes place in Pretoria, the 48-year-old singer will be taking her music abroad with tours in both the United States and the United Kingdom this November.

During her tour, which has already began, she is set to have shows at Crystal Ballroom in Boston, Le Poisson Rouge in New York, Koerner Hall in Toronto, and London’s Jazz Cafe and Barbican.

Speaking to the news and entertainment publication Citizen News, the former BONA Magazine cover star says that she is excited about adapting to the audiences overseas.

In her comparison between audiences back home and those abroad she explained that the shows she performs at overseas are usually more intimate crowds which motivates her to adapt accordingly. Additionally, she explained that the crowds don’t always sing along word for word as they would do in South Africa.

With next year marking a career milestone for her in the music industry her Pretoria concert is about showing appreciation to those who have supported her throughout her career.

“Next year I will be celebrating 30 years in this business, and after that, I will be celebrating my 50th birthday.

“This is a time of great milestones in my life, and I am so humbled by the incredible experiences I have had so far. I just want my music to inspire joy, healing, and self-love,” Thandiswa told the entertainment publication.

Speaking on the Pretoria show which is set to take place on 7 December, she said that her fans support has meant the world to her.

“I could not have done it without you, and I look forward to singing along with you at the State Theatre.”
