Thabo Cele returns to SA; Nabi suspended AGAIN

News of Thabo Cele’s return to South Africa will be music to the ears of Kaizer Chiefs, who have been tracking the 26-old-old for months.

However, the reasoning for his return should evoke opposite emotions.

Cele informed Fakel Voronezh of ‘serious health problems in the family’, which led to his contract termination in order to support his loved ones back home. However, that doesn’t mean he won’t play soccer.

The newly announced free agent will have several PSL clubs vying for his signature.

Kaizer Chiefs could be the most attractive destination if Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns decide not to engage, which seems to be the case.

Nabi suspension

Kaizer Chiefs head coach Nasreddine Nabi was dealt a two-match suspension following an altercation with referee Olani Kwinda after their 1-0 loss to Golden Arrows.

This meant he missed the following game against Sekhukhune United and will be forced to sit in the stands once more against ABC Motsepe League side Free Agents on Sunday.

Kick-off: 18:00

Nabi will return for the highly anticipated Soweto Derby on February 1.

Moutang speaks on PSL accusations

Kaizer Moutang Junior has responded to accusations that PSL clubs have been reluctant to sell players to Kaizer Chiefs, saying, “To be fair, I don’t even entertain that we’re here all the other clubs are our partners. We are stakeholders in the league, we need each other.

“They need us. We need them. And it’s a situation of us coming to negotiations,” he told iDiski Times.

“They always will have their standpoint. They want to keep their best players. If you had to ask me, anybody coming to ask, you know, ‘sell us Shabalala’, I would say, No.

“It’s part of negotiations. It’s part of the industry. It’s part of the business. They have their goals they want to achieve. We have ours. So it’s about us engaging in a positive way and trying your best you can to achieve the goals.

“So we respect them and respect they respect us. And it’s part of the industry, and you find that, you know, worldwide.”
