Tebogo Thobejane will have to wait a few more weeks until she gains justice.

The former Muvhango star was previously a victim in an incident involving attempted murder. This comes after her and a friend travelled from having dinner at a Sandton restaurant in October 2023. On the night, they were attacked by what was then unknown gunmen who opened fire, leaving her friend hospitalised while she sustained minor injuries.

This has since led to the actress fleeing the country in fear of her life and briefly relocated to Dubai.

“I can’t afford to get bodyguards … I have had to change my son’s school and rearrange my whole life,” she was quoted saying at the time.

However, police have since managed to track down the suspects in April last year.

Following the arrest, she told entertainment publication ZiMoja: “As a woman, it’s disheartening to live in fear due to the unknown. It did not look like it was a robbery or an attempted hijacking. I have my suspicions- it looked like a hit.”

Meanwhile, the accused recently made a brief appearance at the Alexandra Magistrates Court, where they were remanded in custody with the court date postponed to 31 March.

Speaking to the entertainment publication TshisaLive, a source close to the actress revealed that the continuous court appearances have taken its toll on Tebogo.

“Tebza (Tebogo) feels the matter is taking too long and the culprits need to account.”

In a post on her Instagram stories, Tebogo wrote: “Any man who tries to kill woman is a coward. It is heartbreaking that South Africa has reached a point where, if we are not being slut-shamed, we are being attacked.”
