A suspect connected to a violent scissor stabbing spree in Milnerton appeared in the Cape Town Magistrate’s Court this week, facing multiple charges after a string of attacks on 23 April left two individuals critically injured.
The first incident occurred outside the Cash Crusaders store in Milnerton, where a woman was reportedly assaulted.
The assailant then moved toward Koeberg Road, where a male victim was stabbed, but managed to escape and report the attack at the Milnerton police station.
A third victim, also male, was subsequently stabbed on Bosmansdam Road.
Apprehended the suspect
Police responded swiftly and apprehended the suspect near the Milnerton SAPS premises shortly after the final attack.
The female victim has been identified as the wife of James Jonker, a former member of the Milnerton Crime Watch Trust (MCWT).
Both she and one of the male victims remain in critical condition in hospital.
In response to the attacks, the MCWT has urged anyone who may have witnessed the incidents and has not yet provided a statement to come forward and contact the Milnerton SAPS.
The suspect faces several charges, including attempted murder, assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, and possession of a dangerous weapon.
Authorities have not yet established a clear motive behind the attacks, and investigations are ongoing.
