SuperSport United is reportedly selling their PSL status ahead of next season, and this could mark the rebirth of Bloemfontein Celtic.
Matsatsantsa are believed to be keeping this information under wraps until the end of the season as the focus is to finish in a better position on the log.
As things stand, SuperSport United are 13th on the Betway Premiership standings, and still not safe from the playoff spot.
SUPERSPORT UNITED TO SELL PSL STATUS, BLOEM CELTIC TO RETURN?
Now, according to SoccerBeat, rumour has it that a consortium led by Minister of Sport Gayton McKenzie is in talks with SuperSport United.
Should the two parties reach an agreement, then McKenzie intends to change SuperSport United’s name to Bloemfontein Celtic and relocate it to the Free State.
Celtic were sold to Royal AM in 2021 after going through some financial challenges, and this left thousands of their passionate fans with broken hearts.
However, things got better for a number of Bloemfontein Celtic when Marumo Gallants decided to make Bloemfontein their preferred home.
Now, with Phunya Sele Sele set to return to the PSL next season, expectations are that those affiliated to Gallants will leave.
