On today’s episode of things you never expected to see: A tombstone with the picture of a man who closely resembles an American celebrity, has been spotted along the streets of a northern Gauteng region called Hammanskraal.
South Africa has unofficially been dubbed as one of the most unserious countries in the world on social media, as citizens have proven to have an innate ability to make light of, and make jokes, even amid the most serious situations. This reputation has continued to intensify, as there seem to be no limit on the kind of content they consume and engage with.
Taking to his account, TikTok user @T-Merc-G posted a picture of a tombstone he bumped into, while cruising the streets of Hammanskraal. Just like T-Merc, other users could not help but notice the picture’s uncanny resemblance to comedian and TV host Steve Harvey, giving rise to a plethora of questions, including who the stone could belong, and whether or not this was done on purpose.
” Hammanskraal ba des, ba feditse ka yena!”(Hammanskraal people are legendary, they have finished him), his caption reads.
Does @IAmSteveHarvey know he is buried in Harmanskraal🙆♂️, ko Pretoria Mahlanyeng🤔❓️ pic.twitter.com/wVweDFU9Mt

As expected, these pictures have garnered some traction, as users have begun tagging Steve, inquiring whether he was aware that he had been buried in Hammanskraal. Furthermore, these users could not help but notice that right behind the Steve Harvey tombstone, there was one that has a picture of late Orlando Pirates goalkeeper Senzo Meyiwa, causing even more confusion than before.
” Steve Harvey and Messi on tombstones?? This is worse than the Beyonce, Kelly and Rihanna on hair salon posters,” one user comments.
” Does Steve Harvey know he is buried here?” another user inquires.
