Another day, another court case for a notable name as Donelle Mbele, son of popular actress Sonia Mbele returns to the spotlight for the multiple rape charges that have been placed on him, after a similar occurrence in 2022.

It appears some individuals are incapable of rehabilitation as 23-year-old Donelle Mbele has found himself battling more rape allegations after having previously gone for rehabilitation and therapy following the first allegations of rape and assault surfaced in 2022. Donelle’s alleged actions were condemned by the rest of the country as well as his famous mother, Sonia Mbele, who expressed that as a survivor of such abuse at the hands of a man, she could idly sit by and watch her son head in that route and would ensure that Donelle would face the appropriate consequences for his actions.

That didn’t necessarily come to fruition as the youngster was shortly gifted with an extravagant and luxurious Porsche, which led the public to believe that his parents disregarded the gravity of the situation that Donelle had been in. Fast forwarding to now, the 23-year-old is in a similar boat, this time facing two counts of rape from his 17-year-old girlfriend who revealed that the incidents occurred on the 14th and 15th of December 2024 at Donelle’s place of residence.

After his court appearance, the producer’s son was granted bail at R1000 and was then released from custody, and is set to return in February while the court conducts investigations on the matter. Meanwhile, Mzansi could not help but notice that his mother was nowhere to be seen during and after his appearance, leading them to believe that she meant her harsh words when she said she would not stand for her son’s atrocious actions.

The public has expressed strong opinions regarding Donelle’s situation, and some reveal that they believe that he should have been arrested after the first allegations were brought up. These users believe that this is a result of a bigger societal issue currently plaguing the country, which is the way boy children have been socialised to think and act towards women.
