Media personality Somizi Mhlongo pulled all the stops as he celebrated Halloween for the first time.

Halloween is celebrated annually on 31 October. It originated in the 19th century in Europe as an ancient Celtic festival, Samhain.

Seemingly, the day marked the end of summer and harvest, ushering on the dark, cold winter. Over the years, the tradition has been celebrated not only in Europe but across the globe.

Halloween has evolved despite being marked by monstrous costumes to ward off spirits. Over the years, celebrities have always made headlines with their costumes that embrace creativity and diversity.

Back home, media personality Somizi Mhlongo is trending after channelling controversial rapper Shebeshxt as his Halloween costume look.

Since his thrust into the limelight, the ‘Shebe Monateng’ hitmaker is known for wearing Nike track pants and complementing his looks with a cap.

He is always topless, showing off his tattoos and carrying a backpack. This has been Shebeshxt’s traditional look for years, and Somizi Mhlongo decided to recreate it for Halloween.

Somizi Mhlongo added more tattoos for a picture-perfect look, and he nailed it.

Taking to Instagram, the muso posted, “This was my first and probably my last Halloween participation because how do I top that?”

Somizi added, “I had so much fun doing this. Thanks for all the lovely comments. It’s crazy how when I looked at the pics during the shoot I’d scream out in disbe of how alike we look. Crazier that we’ve never met Shebeshxt.”

Thanks to his huge social media following, Somizi often trends whenever he posts or gets posted. Fans and fellow celebrities were quick to flood his social media feed with comments.

One of his followers posted, ‘I thought it was him. The resemblance is quite accurate.” Celebrated singer Nhlanhla Mafu commented, “You win, mayivalwe (let’s close it).”
