Orlando Pirates could lose six players at the end of the season.

The Soweto giants have had a good season, winning the CAF Champions League semi-final and also winning the MTN8. This weekend, they have a chance of completing another cup double when they face Kaizer Chiefs in the Nedbank Cup final.

With coach Jose Riveiro leaving the club at the end of the season, some players could jump ship. Here are six Orlando Pirates players likely to leave the club in the coming weeks.

Relebohile Mofokeng

The talented winger has scored 12 goals and provided a further 13 assists for the Buccaneers across all competitions this season. The 20-year-old is set for a big move to Europe at the end of the season.

Tshegofatso Mabasa

Mabasa has not featured much this season with Jose Riveiro opting to start with Evidence Makgopa. The 28-year-old has been linked with a move to the Middle East.

Monnapule Saleng

The speedy winger has not kicked a ball for Orlando Pirates in five months. The situation between the winger and the club has not been made public, but reports claim the Bafana Bafana forward is not happy with his current salary at the club.

Having not played for the club since December, it remains that Saleng will wear the Buccaneers colours next season.

Innocent Maela

The Orlando Pirates captain had featured a handful of times this season. After eight years at the club, Maela will leave the club at the end of the season, it seems.

Miguel Timm

The 33-year-old midfielder has only featured once this season. He was instrumental under Riveiro in the past two seasons, but injuries have kept him out of the team this campaign. With the likes of Thalente Mbatha and Makhehlene Makhaula settled in midfield, it seems unlikely that Timm will break into the team.

Thabiso Lebitso

Lebitso joined Orlando Pirates in January of 2024 and immediately became a fan favourite. Injuries have limited him to just two appearances this season, though and with the right-back position the most contested in the team, Lebitso’s future at the club remains doubtful.
