Sipho Mbule’s name is once again making headlines, this time as his agent, Mike Makaab, confirms that the 27-year-old midfielder has officially been offered to Kaizer Chiefs.
Speaking on X (formerly Twitter), Makaab reversed an earlier stance taken in a FARPost article, where he had dismissed reports linking Mbule with a surprise move to Naturena ahead of the 2025/2026 Betway Premiership season.
In a sharp clarification, Makaab stated:
“Let me set the record straight. Sipho Mbule has been offered to Kaizer Chiefs. It is up to the club(Kaizer Chiefs) to make the decision and we need to respect that decision.”
Sundowns end Mbule’s stay amid off-field drama
Mbule’s time at Mamelodi Sundowns has come to a premature end. Although his contract technically runs until 30 June 2025, the club decided not to activate a two-year extension clause. According to reports, ongoing concerns about his conduct away from the pitch influenced that decision.
Signed in 2022 from SuperSport United, Mbule was once seen as a marquee acquisition for the Brazilians. However, his performances never quite lived up to the hype during his underwhelming stint at Chloorkop.
Loan spell offered glimmers of hope
In a bid to rediscover his form, Mbule joined Sekhukhune United on a season-long loan. Under coach Lehlohonolo Seema, he showed early promise, scoring twice and assisting three times in 17 appearances across all competitions.
But his return to form was short-lived. Reports emerged that Mbule arrived at training under the influence of alcohol, reigniting the same concerns that plagued his time at Sundowns.
