South African Amapiano vocalist Scotts Maphuma’s apology divided fans on Instagram.
Scotts had made headlines in the past few months, releasing hit after hit. His hit song Uyaphapha Marn remains one of the most viral hits he dropped recently.
With so much popularity, Scotts found his name among the best artists in the country, but failed to handle the pressure.
WHAT SCOTTS SAID
In March, Scotts spoke about his fast-rising celebrity status and his challenges.
“I’m tired of being judged for not always being in the mood to take pictures or interact with fans,” he said.
He continued on the L-Tido Podcast, showing the same character that did not sit well with fans.
“If I don’t want to take a picture, then I don’t want to,” he continued.
After weeks of fan backlash, Scotts finally apologised to his fans in a heartfelt statement.

“To my fans and supporters,” he started, “I want to sincerely apologise for my recent actions and words, which have disrespected and disappointed many of you. I lost perspective and take full responsibility,” he continued.
“This has been a wake-up call. I now understand the importance of staying grounded and connected to those who make the journey possible,” he continued.
