The South African Revenue Service (SARS) has warned the public regarding imposters pretending to be SARS sending notifications about refunds on assessments.
Make sure the email or SMS is genuine before you click on any link.

Unsuspecting taxpayers
Meanwhile, as previously reported by The South African website, SARS has warned the public regarding fraudsters sending emails to unsuspecting taxpayers and businesses pretending to be SARS employees.
The emails typically contain an attachment with a link where one can ‘settle an outstanding balance or debt’.
A real SARS employee’s name and contact details appear on the email signature, but if you look closely the email domain is different.
