Springboks’ fans predict Siya Kolisi may get demoted after he and Rachel announced their divorce this week.

WILL SIYA KOLISI GET DEMOTED?

Social media user @Akhona_PQ revealed on X that the Springboks team are family orientated, and Siya Kolisi may lose his captaincy title after announcing his divorce.

She also believes Kolisi may get replaced with either the Sharks captain Eben Etzebeth or Cheslin Kolbe.

Etzebeth is married to actress and singer Anlia van Rensburg, while Kolbe has been married to Layla Kolbe since 2018.

She said on X: “Kwaphela kanjalo ubuCaptain (his captaincy is over, just like that). Boks are family orientated, and they want a happily married family man to be the face of the squad. Oh phakama (rise) Eben.”

“I changed my mind about Eben. I have a new agenda. Kolbe the cobra. Captain my captain. Mr Charge Down not on my watch. Your time has come! Phakama Cheslin.”

IOL has reported that Springboks coach Rassie Erasmus supports Kolisi as he deals with his divorce.

SOUTH AFRICANS RESPOND: ‘EBEN WAS GIVEN SHARKS CAPTAINCY’

@IntegrityNcube: “Interesting that Eben was given Sharks captaincy too… getting primed for the big one.”

@mamtungwa_: “Him and Rassie are on the same boat, so they are probably comforting each other.”

@Tranquility0124: “Rassie divorced his wife of 20 years. They must not be hypocrites.”

@Akhona_PQ: “Yeap, rugby community is brutal yolento bethanda umtshato (they love marriage) for good PR. They believe marriage brings stability. See lento that happened with Joost is what they don’t want to see again. Ngoku nanku uSiya emosha” (Siya ruined things).

@WendyQhawe: “He can marry again. Also, their coach is very much divorced.”

@NdimhleThiza: “Eben or Pieter Steph about to become captain.”
