Rulani Mokwena sends crushing message to Kaizer Chiefs fans

Rulani Mokwena has emphatically dismissed rumours linking him to a job at Kaizer Chiefs while heaping praise on Nasreddine Nabi.

Currently unemployed, Mokwena has been linked with a return to South Africa following his stint in Morocco.

The tactically astute manager has been linked with various PSL clubs in recent weeks.

While a selection of Kaizer Chiefs fans believe the Nabi experiment has failed and Mokwena should be given a chance to lead the club, Mokwena himself believes otherwise.

This comes after the Glamour Boys failed to finish in the league’s top eight, frustrating the club’s passionate fan-base.

When quizzed regarding reports linking him to a job at Kaizer Chiefs FC, Rulani Mokwena had this to say instead!

“It can’t be about Kaizer Chiefs because they’ve got a coach… Of course it’s a great a club, it’s got the pressure of doing well also in the domestic league but I think that winning the Nedbank Cup and delivering the first title [in 10 years], and the way they did it, not only just winning it but the way they did it, beating other big teams, I think coach Nabi has earned credit,” Mokwena told Marawa Sports World as quoted by IDiski Times.

The former Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates mentor went to give Nabi his stamp of approval.

“Sometimes as coaches we need that, we need credit sometimes. And I think he’s earned the credit to be given an opportunity to continue to resurrect Kaizer Chiefs.”
