REJECTED! Kaizer Chiefs R3m short of signing top midfield target!

Kaizer Chiefs could be one of the most active clubs in the January transfer window, with targets lined up!

Chiefs will finish 2024 in seventh position in the Betway Premiership with a squad boost clearly needed for 2025.

Chiefs looking to attack the market

New coach Nasreddine Nabi has made it no secret that his squad needs players worthy of the Chiefs jersey. The club has been linked with attackers and defenders in the process, with the coming window seen as an opportunity. Most recently midfield signings have also been mooted. The likes of Feisal Salum and Thabo Cele who would come as a significant upgrade on the current crop.

Now according to Soccer-Laduma, Chiefs have made a bid for Stellenbosch FC’s midfielder Sihle Nduli. The two clubs seem to be some distance apart though as it stands.

“Despite keeping quiet for some time on the matter, Chiefs haven’t given up on Nduli. That’s why they tabled an offer to Stellenbosch FC. It is believed to be around R4 million which Stellies apparently rejected and put up a counter offer of R7m. At the moment it’s not yet clear whether Chiefs will negotiate on that R7m or whether they are giving up on Nduli. But at the moment Stellenbosch are looking at that amount of R7m and they are willing to sell him,” said the source.

Bid for Nduli rejected?

A second source has given hope to Chiefs saying that Nduli’s contract situation could force Stellenbosch to negotiate.

“No, Stellies don’t have a problem selling him right now as they want to make some money while they still can. Let me tell you Nduli’s contract is coming to an end in June 2025 and this is the only chance they have to either sell him or renew his contract but since there is interest from Kaizer Chiefs they want to capitalise on that. So let’s hope with negotiations going on something could happen,” said the source.

Chiefs fans would you like to see Nduli sign for the club? Is he worth the R7 million quoted by Stellenbosch for him? Feel free to leave your comments and feelings below.
