Social media was abuzz after one of the most coveted cars in the world, Ferrari LaFerrari Aperta, was spotted in Cape Town, South Africa.

Photos of the LaFerrari Aperta have since flooded online, with several petrolheads giving it a nod.

R130 MILLION FERRARI LAFERRARI APERTA SPOTTED IN CAPE TOWN

Only 210 units made it on the market, and they seem to call South Africa home. The car often trends whenever it gets spotted or posted, not only because of its price tag but also because of its exclusivity.

However, little is known about the car’s owner or if it’s another Ferrari LaFerrari Aperta that was once shared by RTM Supercars South Africa in May.

Earlier this year, the celebrated car spotting blog revealed that @thedrivechronicle had replaced their sleek Pagani Imola with an immaculate LaFerrari Aperta.

The blog posted, “LAFERRARI APERTA BACK IN SA. The Pagani Imola has left SA, but the guys from @thedrivechronicle replaced it with this immaculate LaFerrari Aperta.”

Could it be the one trending or two LaFerrari Apertas call South Africa home?

In recent years, the open-top guise of the LaFerrari has quickly become one of the most preferred among car enthusiasts and collectors. But how much is the most sought-after hypercars in the world?

A few Ferrari LaFerrari have made it on the market. According to reports, the car’s base price is R108 million ($5.8 million) in some dealerships worldwide.

However, over the years, prices have ballooned due to exclusivity. According to reports, a Ferrari LaFerrari with 174 miles recently sold for R130 million ($7 million).

However, another Ferrari LaFerrari fetched R186 million ($10 million) in an auction.

WHY IS IT SPECIAL AND RARE?

Ferrari LaFerrari Aperta is an open-top version of the LaFerrari, which was unveiled in 2016. Only 210 units were produced, but 200 were available upon unveiling.

Nine units were reserved for Ferrari’s 70th anniversary. However, one of the 210 ever-made Ferrari LaFerrari was sold at auction in 2017.

SPECIFICATIONS

  • It has a top speed of 350 km/h
  • Rear mid-mounted Ferrari F140 V12 engine
  • 663 lb-ft of torque – making it one of the most powerful cars ever built
  • Seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission
  • An ultimate track-focused hypercar

Moreover, Ferrari claims that the LaFerrari can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.6 seconds and reach 200 km/h in 6.9 seconds.

However, the LaFerrari does not only have the Ferrari LaFerrari Aperta line under its flagship model. Some of the models under the LaFerrari flagship include:

  • FXX-K (2015–2017)
  • FXX-K Evo (2017–2019)
