The eighth season of Mzansi Magic’s Uthando Nesthembu has proven to be reality TV gold, as each episode is filled with tons for viewers to dissect and analyse. A major topic of conversation has been the order of the wives and who falls where in the line, and viewers appear to be perplexed with each episode.

Uthando Nesthembu season 8 has delivered as per viewers’ expectations as the show has become notorious for being one of the more consistent and exciting reality shows mzansi has to offer. This can be attributed to the chaotic and authentic nature of the show which gives mzansi a glimpse into the nature of polygamous families.

As the seasons have come and gone, Musa’s history with each of his four wives is often revisited as they reminisce about their long commitment to each other. This has allowed viewers to take notes and put the Mseleku family history under a microscope, revealing some gaps in what they have known to be the truth since the inception of the show.

According to all common knowledge, the wives’ order goes as: follows MaCele, MaYeni, MaKhumalo, MaNgwabe, and now comes the addition of maKhwela, the infamous number five. However, some conversations and recollections from the family have had viewers putting on their detective caps to put two and two together, and some of their conclusions have had us quietly sipping our tea, ready to find out the real truth.

Upon further inspection, these users have pointed out that on a few occasions, it has been revealed that MaYeni’s lobola negotiations took place in 2007, and were officially married in 2009. Now the confusion comes when viewers recall that Thobile have mentioned that MaKhumalo’s lobola negotiations also took place in 2009, causing some confusion as to who’s ceremonies came first.

The conclusions that viewers have drawn have varied, dependent on who is more favourable at the time, however, what seems to make sense to these viewers is that MaKhumalo moved into the Mthombeni homestead as a fiance, rather than a wife, which then confused things a little bit. These users believe that Musa went behind MaYeni and her family’s back to pay lobola for MaKhumalo, due to matters getting held up with MaYeni’s family.

This complicated matter has had viewers glued to their TV screens, admitting that 30 minutes of this show is no longer enough and moving to Mzumbe with the Mseleku family would suffice, in order to catch the drama and action in 4k. It will be interesting to see whether Musa will lay the matter to rest and reveal what really transpired all those years ago and put his fans and foes at ease.
