Victory for the second-placed Pirates will see them closing the gap on already crowned champions Mamelodi Sundowns to 10 points. Sundowns finished the season on 73 points after 28 games, while the Buccaneers are on 60 points after 27 matches.
“We want to finish the right way, with the right attitude – with the right mentality, and we urge all the supporters to come through and support us for this final home game,” Jacobs told the Pirates media.
Meanwhile, reports have emerged suggesting that Jacobs could join his former coach Jose Riveiro at Al-Ahly.
Riveiro, who left Pirates before the end of the 2024/25 season, is set to be unveiled by the Egyptian giants on Thursday. He replaces Marcell Koller who was axed after failing to win this season’s CAF Champions League.
