Pirates reveal strategy to beat Chiefs and Sundowns to top target!

Orlando Pirates, Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns could all be competing for similar targets in this January transfer window.

In the past Pirates, Chiefs and Sundowns have been known to target some of the best talents in the country.

Sundowns beating Pirates and Chiefs in the market

In recent years, it was reported that Pirates and Chiefs had been chasing the signature of Junior Mendieta. But in the end, it was Sundowns who ended up signing the player, after matching his Stellenbosch FC buy-out clause. A similar situation occurred with striker Iqraam Rayners who was linked with all three clubs for about two transfer windows. In that situation, the same outcome occurred.

Although Chiefs and Pirates were linked for longer, Sundowns swept in and paid Rayners’ buy-out clause at Stellenbosch. In the same window, the two Soweto giants also missed out on Kegan Johannes to the Brazilians. it is now clear that the other two clubs simply cannot compete with Masandawana financially.

So now as all the clubs are credited with an interest in signing Fawaaz Basadien, Pirates have formulated a plan. This in the hope of beating both Chiefs and then the financial pull of Sundowns to his signature. According to Soccer-Laduma, the Buccaneers will tempt Stellenbosch with two senior players to try beat their rivals!

Buccaneers to offer players plus cash for Basadien

“What they) are looking at is to give Stellies one of the players, that they would choose or like, or even both the left backs in exchange for Basadien which will also include money. They would want to have Basadien and Deon Hotto as their main competitors in that left back position. It’s a plan from Pirates as they are building a team that will sustain their success for a long time and they apparently feel Basadien fits in that plan,” said the source.

It’s believed that one of the senior players Pirates would offer for Basadien is captain Innocent Maela. Buccaneers, would this be the right decision? Feel free to leave your thoughts and feelings in the comments below.
