Mamelodi Sundowns striker Peter Shalulile has finally reached a century of goals for the Tshwane giants.

Shalulile scored his 100th goal in Tuesday’s Betway Premiership match against AmaZulu.

The Namibia international went into the encounter at Lucas Moripe Stadium sitting on 99 goals for Sundowns across all competitions.

And he has now joined only Daniel ‘Mambush’ Mudau in a list of players who scored 100 goals for a single club.

Mudau scored 110 goals across all competitions for the Brazilians during his playing days in the PSL era.

This means Shalulile is only the second player in the entire history of the PSL to score 100 goals for a single club after Mudau.

Furthermore, Shalulile is slowly but surely closing in on Siyabonga Nomvethe’s long-standing PSL record of 129 goals.

As things stand, the 31-year-old sharpshooter is sitting on 126 goals, meaning he needs just three more to smash Nomvethe’s record.

With so many games left before the end of the current season, Shalulile is could still set a new PSL record for most goals scored by a single player in history.

Shalulile achieved this huge milestone on his 194th competitive match for the 2016 CAF Champions League winners.

And that’s the fewest number of games compared to Mudau while he’s also the fasted to reach 100 goals for Sundowns in less than five years.

Shalulile joined Sundowns ahead of the 2020-21 season from Highlands Park, and since then he’s never looked back.

With this latest achievement, he has surely cemented his legendary status at Sundowns.
