American R&B singer Chris Brown’s past has again caught up with him, and this time, there seems to be no escaping.

It was recently reported that the singer was arrested while in the UK ahead of his eagerly awaited Breezy Bowl tour, which was set to take place in Manchester next month.

The singer recently touched down in the English city after arriving in a private jet, however, his freedom was short-lived as police officials later detained him at the 5-star Lowry Hotel.

According to reports by British entertainment publication The Sun, it was revealed that the reason for the arrest was based on allegations of assault that took place in 2023.

It is said that the 36-year-old attacked music producer Abe Diaw with a bottle at Tape nightclub in London’s exclusive Mayfair district. Abe has since launched a civil claim against Chris for injury damages as well as the income lost following the attack.

Speaking to the media, a Met police spokesperson said: “A 36-year-old man was arrested at a hotel in Manchester shortly after 02:00hrs on Thursday, 15 May on suspicion of grievous bodily harm. He has been taken into custody where he remains.

“The arrest relates to an incident at a venue in Hanover Square on 19 February 2023. The investigation is being led by detectives from the Central West Area Basic Command Unit.’’

Last month Chris announced that he would be touring the UK with concerts in London, Manchester, Cardiff, Birmingham, Dublin as well as Glasgow in celebration of his 20 years in music.
