The City of Tshwane will implement a nine-hour power outage over two days in Soshanguve.
The outage is scheduled for Thursday, 27 March, and Friday, 28 March 2025, respectively between 8:00 and 17:00.
PARTS OF TSHWANE FACING 18-HOUR POWER OUTAGE
The metro municipality said consumers in the supply zone of the Soshanguve IA Substation will be affected by the shutdown of power supply which will allow the municipality’’s team of technicians to work on the replacement of aged equipment at the substation.
“This inevitable work, which will enhance the quality of electricity supply to the residents, will last for nine hours between 8:00 and 17:00 on each day,” City of Tshwane spokesperson Lindela Mashigo said.
Here are the areas in Soshanguve that will be affected by the planned power outage on Thursday, 27 March:
- Block BB and DD
- Soshanguve SPS line (Tswaing)
The following Tshwane areas will be affected by the power outage on Friday, 28 March:
- Block FF
- Block JJ and part of Winterveldt
- Block NN
- Block IA
- Block HH
- Block LL
- Block PP
- Block GG
“Customers are advised to treat all electricity supply points as live at all times. The City of Tshwane apologises profusely for the inconvenience that may be caused as a result of the above-mentioned work,” Mashigo said.
