Out-of-favour Kaizer Chiefs star addressess comments made by Nabi

Kaizer Chiefs defender Given Msimango has touched on comments made by his coach Nasreddine Nabi regarding the club signing “players of the level of Chiefs”.

The club are looking to strengthen their team during the January transfer period. Nabi, who took over in July, said more quality players are needed at the club. So far, Kaizer Chiefs have claimed just four league victories this season and are currently seventh in the Betway Premiership.

When asked about what Nabi meant when he said Amakhosi needed to sign players on Chiefs level, Msimango said the question should be directed at his coach.

“I think, to be honest, that question is directed to him per se. As a player, I can only do what I’m employed to do for the club,” said the Kaizer Chiefs defender.

“The people that brought me in this club believe in me as a player and I believe in myself. So, any other comments besides Given’s comments, I think those should be directed to the coach. He can maybe elaborate more on what he meant by that.”

Msimango could leave Kaizer Chiefs very soon

Having just played four matches, Msimango has been linked with a move away from Naturena. The former TS Galaxy star has not featured much under Nabi with the Tunisian coach preferring Rushwin Dorely and Miguel Inacio.

“I cannot speak for everyone. But self-confidence is nothing that I’ve never lacked as an individual,” Msimango added.

“I know who I am, I know where I stand with my game. I know where I need to improve on. I’m not perfect, and I stand on that. I speak for Given Msimango right now,” he said as per FARPost.

Kaizer Chiefs are in action on Sunday evening against Cape Town City.
