Orlando Pirates are now officially pre-season ready after unveiling their new home and away kits for next season.
Pirates will wear their tradition colours next season, with a black home kit and return to a white away jersey.
White away kit returns
This represents the first time the white jersey returns since the 2022/23 season, the first under former coach Jose Riveiro. In the previous two seasons, although they kept the season traditional black, they experiment with the away colours. In the 2023/24 season they went light green while last season was a shade of blue. The Pirates purist will now be happy with a move back to their traditions.
Pirates took to their various social media platforms on Tuesday morning to unveil the two jersey’s. They did so under the slogan “It’s in our bones” a clear reference to their skull and bones logo. As per the club’s post on their official ‘X’ account, the new kit will be available in stores in exactly a months time. Take a look at them below!
Available from 7 July
They’re, however, set to begin their pre-season on the 7th of July and jet off to Spain again for their preparations. It will be interesting to see if they wear their new strip there or opt to wear an older strip like their first trip. Pirates confirmed fixtures against English side Bolton Wanderers and Pafos FC of Cyprus. They will then also take on familiar opposition in Granada FC and UD Las Palmas FC.
Their first game will be played against Bolton, a historic English side that has slipped down the divisions over time. This game represents a pattern after another lower league English side in Plymouth was included last season. Pirates will then play Cyprus champions Pafos just two days later. They will then finish off their tour with two Spanish sides in Las Palmas on the 17th of July as well as Granada just two days later.
