An Orlando Pirates player is facing an uncertain future at the club according to the latest reports.
Goodman Mosele rejoined Pirates at the start of the season after his loan spell at Chippa United last season.
But his return would be marred by a long-term injury that ruled him out from even the pre-season. It is now January and Mosele is yet to return to training for Pirates. Even when he does eventually return, however, the midfield department already has a lot competition. He would be up against the likes of Makhahlene Makhaula, Thalente Mbatha, Miguel Timm and Selaelo Rasebotja.
So with Mosele’s Pirates contract expiring at the end of the season, it’s thought that the player could be released.
Pirates to release Mosele?
“You know the club (Pirates) is quiet and when they are quiet at this stage of the season and the contract is coming to an end it’s not a good thing. After all you know he (Mosele) was on loan last season at Chippa United and after that he got injured and now since he recovered he is not playing. That’s his situation and it’s believed that the club has already made their decision that the chances of renewing his contract are very slim. That’s why we are saying his future hangs in the balance. It’s in a limbo actually,” said the source to Soccer-Laduma.
The source states that, Mosele’s injury woes may be the key factor that sees him released by Pirates.
“I think if he (Mosele) had gone on loan maybe things could have been different. But with the injury it was bad for him. Those teams including Chippa United which were interested in signing him, looked somewhere else and and his contract is coming to an end in June. The chances of him staying at the club (Pirates) are very slim,” said the source.
Chiefs to revive their interest?
