Orlando Pirates are not playing in their pursuit of Kaizer Chiefs’ Bafana Bafana target.

Orlando Pirates are preparing some big transfer moves in January.

Moreover, their latest target is a Bafana Bafana attacker who has been heavily linked to Kaizer Chiefs.

PIRATES TO OFFER R10 MILLION + PLAYERS FOR BAFANA STAR

Pirates mean business.

So, they are willing to match Cape Town Spurs R10 million price tag for Chiefs target, Asanele Velebayi.

Furthermore, the Bucs are willing to offer a player – or two – on top of their R10 million offer.

“It’s believed that Pirates have worked on a strategy on how they can get Asanele (Velebayi). I am not sure whether they are working on it for this January or for the end of the season but they want to meet the demand from Spurs and also add a player or two in exchange for Velebayi,” the insider said on SNL.

Meaning, they are now the front-runners for his signature. This is because the his asking price was one of the reasons Nasreddine Nabi and Amakhosi did not sign him in the recent transfer window.

Additionally, as mentioned, the Bucs are even willing to add players on top of matching Spurs on their asking price.

BUCS TO BUILD DEPTH

Jose Riveiro and Bucs management are aiming to strengthen their squad depth.

This is because Pirates are back in the CAF Champions League. Meaning, they will be playing a lot more football and traveling more. So, squad depth will be key to their success in both the CAFCL and PSL.

Both tournaments are extremely important to the Bucs. Meanwhile, Riveiro’s Soweto giants has the best chance in over a decade to win the PSL title – the Betway Premiership. Meanwhile, alongside Mamelodi Sundowns they will want to wave the South African flag proudly.
