Orlando Pirates management are going all out to sign one of the top strikers in the country!
The Buccaneers are pushing to compete for both the CAF Champions League, Nedbank Cup and Betway Premiership titles.
And now, Jose Riveiro has requested the club to dip into the January transfer market to bolster his attack.
According to the latest transfer gossip, lethal Motsepe Foundation Championship striker Muzomuhle Khanyi is wanted by Orlando Pirates!
The 25-year-old striker has been in red-hot form for Hungry Lions this season, scoring 11 goals in just 12 matches.
Orlando Pirates preparing scintillating offer for Muzomuhle Khanyi
“At the moment we can’t say which players or player would go to Hungry Lions if the deal goes through,” an insider told Soccer Laduma.
“But in the event of the deal going through, I think both parties will benefit as Pirates will get the player they want while Hungry Lions will get a player plus money which will help the team. You know it’s tough financially in the Motsepe Foundation Championship. So, it’s a positive deal for both clubs.”
In other news, Orlando Pirates coach Jose Riveiro has an abundance of talent in his squad, which comes with it’s own headaches.
Not only does his decisions affect his side, but the repercussions will reach Hugo Broos’ Bafana Bafana squad.
With Themba Zwane nearing the end of his career, Bafana Bafana need a new playmaker to takeover from ‘Mshishi’.
And the next two players in line happen to both come from Orlando Pirates! Patrick Maswanganyi’s unpredictability however leaves former Kaizer Chiefs star David Modise worried.
According to Modise, Relebohile Mofokeng is the perfect player to replace Zwane for South Africa.
Orlando Pirates star Mofokeng must be groomed for ’10 role’
“Nowadays we don’t get those number tens who cheat, luxury players. The number ten now cuts inside. The only number ten I see now is ‘Mshishi’,” David Modise told PrimeSportsWithMahlatse as quoted by KickOff.
“But I like the energy of the Orlando Pirates attack, that Mofokeng can be the real number ten, he’s a number ten for me. He’s the one who can play that role nicely because of his vision, skill and his ability going forward.
“He can do that (for Bafana), as long as you make sure he understands that role and he’s gonna be protected by other players. Make sure when he gets the ball you sing according to his tune.”
In other news, Orlando Pirates star Mofokeng is also reportedly attracting serious interest from Spanish giants Barcelona FC!
