Orlando Pirates are reportedly favourites to sign AmaZulu top winger Tshepang Moremi.
The 24-year-old attacker has scored just once in the Betway Premiership for Usuthu this season. According to Soccer Laduma, the Buccaneers could sign Moremi in the next transfer window if they fail to bring in Polokwane City star Oswin Appollis.
Kaizer Chiefs were also believed to be interested in the AmaZulu star, but it appears that Orlando Pirates have overtaken them.
“As I’ve said, it will all depends on all the talks and negotiations but it could involve money and player exchange as well. The value of the player and what AmaZulu want from Pirates could also determine the whole deal at the day,” a source told Soccer Laduma.
Orlando Pirates to steal Kaizer Chiefs target?
The Buccaneers have not brought in any new players this past January transfer window. Coach Jose Riveiro told the media that he was happy with his squad this season.
This season, Orlando Pirates have been better than Kaizer Chiefs with 12 points separating the two teams. Amakhosi have brought in a total of 10 players this season but failed to capture the signature of Moremi. Soccer Laduma reported a few weeks ago that Chiefs were looking to bring in the talented attacker.
“Things are looking tighter and tighter for Chiefs to sign Appollis, especially in January when they need him most,” an inside source stated. “So, club management and the technical team are focused on AmaZulu FC winger Tshepang Moremi as a contingency. He fits the bill if they can’t secure Appollis.”
It remains to be seen if Orlando Pirates can poach another Amakhosi target. Masanadawana appeared to have stop their pursuit having signed Jayden Adams.
Who should Tshepang Moremi go next season?
