Orlando Pirates always mean business, but this is a higher level towards Mamelodi Sundowns. Two Bafana Bafana stars going to the Sea Robbers at once?
ORLANDO PIRATES TO SIGN OSWIN APPOLLIS AND THABANG MATULUDI
As Tiyani Mabasa’s reputable Unplayable reported last week, the Buccaneers were expected to conclude deals with Polokwane City for Appollis and Matuludi.
“Orlando Pirates are close to signing Oswin Appollis and Thabang Matuludi from Polokwane City. #UNPLAYABLE can reveal that the deal could be concluded before the end of this week,” the report said.
Appollis, 23, will arrive as cover on the wing or left wing after Katlego Otladisa’s exit last week. His teammate Matuludi, 25, will replace Bandile Shandu at right back, who is expected to depart soon.
LATEST UPDATE
According to Soccer Laduma‘s update, Orlando Pirates have been asked to pay R15 million to Polokwane for each player, while also offering a player: Otladisa.
YANELA MBUTHUMA TO ORLANDO PIRATES?
The Buccaneers are sorted upfront with Evidence Makgopa and Tshsegofatso Mabasa, but two strikers are not enough for an ambitious CAF Champions League club like Pirates. According to Soccer Laduma, Richards Bay’s 22-year-old striker Mbuthuma is a new target.
“The team is believed to be looking at Mbuthuma from Richards Bay with the aim of strengthening their strikeforce. For now, the outright striker who is playing most of the games is Evidence Makgopa while Tshegofatso Mabasa is mainly on the bench while Zakhele Lepasa and Boitumelo Radiopan are mostly on the sidelines. So, now they have inquired about Mbuthuma from Richards Bay and they are looking at a possible move in the January window,” the source stated.
“You know it’s an almost known factor that Lepasa could leave the club whether on loan or permanently. And there is the issue of Radiopane as well. So the team is set to loan out one or both to make space for a new striker and they have inquired about Yanell Mbuthuma from Richards Bay who they are interested in,” the second source stated.
