Orlando Pirates are in hot pursuit of AmaZulu attacker Tshepang Moremi.
The uSuthu star, boasting nine goals and assists this season, has the repertoire to fight for titles, often dazzling defenders with speed and skill. According to reports, Pirates are negotiating with the 24-year-old for an offseason move.
After refusing the Durban outfit’s contract extension, Moremi’s arrival seems set as he braces for free agency in June.
Kick Off confirmed Orlando Pirates’ eagerness, stating that, “The club is keen to sign Moremi for next season, and negotiations have already started.”
Mabasa gets new contract
Reigning Golden Boot winner Tshegofatso Mabasa has earned himself a two-year extension at the club, keeping him in Soweto until June 2027.
“As we speak now, his contract will run until June 2027,” SoccerLaduma stated.
“The club has already exercised the two years on his contract. It’s not a direct extension or a new contract. For now, they have taken up the option they had on the player, and that’s within their rights to do so. His previous contract was coming to an end in June this year.”
Although Orlando Pirates have decided to secure Mabasa’s talents, it hasn’t prevented the Buccaneers from enquiring about other strikers, including Zambia’s Andrew Phiri.
“They already seem to have tied down the boy from Baroka [Kgositsile], but we know they also want a forward for some reason despite having Tshegofatso [Mabasa] and [Evidence] Makgopa,” a source confirmed.
“Andrew Phiri is one of the many strikers they are currently looking at. He is not that old and comes from Zambia.”
