Orlando Pirates bid for Limpopo midfielder!

Orlando Pirates have reportedly negotiating a three-year deal for Gallants’ Masindi Nemtajela.

The composed midfielder has amassed fourteen league appearances this campaign, including a masterful 90-minute cameo against Orlando Pirates on January 3. The Limpopo-outfit handed the Soweto giants their first defeat of 2025, winning 2-0 at home.

The latest reports coming out of Mayfair suggest several players to be used as bargaining chips for fresh talent; and that relates to Orlando Pirates’ pursuit of Nemtajela.

“As the club is looking at releasing other players, these players are apparently part of the potential deal between Pirates and Gallants,” a source revealed.

“At the moment I can’t say which of those players are, but discussions are ongoing and things could be finalised at the end of the season.”

An additional source reaffirmed the Buccaneers interest up North, saying, “It’s believed that now the club has offered him a three-year deal,” SoccerLaduma confirmed.

“They are looking at improving the squad mainly in the midfield because they will be apparently looking at releasing some of the current midfielders so Masindi is one of those players hence the three-year contract they have offered him.”

New kid on the block

Orlando Pirates have become synonymous with academy talents – Relebohile Mofokeng and Mbekezeli Mbokazi are the current ambassadors taking the league by storm.

The Soweto giants’ latest acquisiotion is youngster Yanga Madiba, who will likely be tested throughout next season.

“They have already made that decision. For now, it’s as good as done, and it’s believed to be a three-year contract which would apparently run from July this year until June 2028,” a Soccer Laduma report read.

“He is still young, and they want him to grow and gain experience while learning from the older players.”
