Organisations and the support ex-offenders can utilise

We, as ex-offenders, find it extremely difficult when released from prison. These include things like readjusting to society, reintegration, and, most of all, employment and assistance to not end up reoffending and returning to prison again. This is the cycle of the system placed to allow this to happen.

This is how I managed to turn my life of crime around, and until this very day, these specific organisations provide me with the support and assistance to help me not recommit a crime.

The Message Trust/Gangstar Café

This organisation is the best thing to ever happen to me since my release. As an ex-offender facing difficulties every day of my life, they involve themselves in assisting inside the prison, release on parole, etc. Most of all, they care and strive towards a better future—a future of change.

Seeking to break the cycle of poverty, unemployment, gangsterism, and crime. A purpose is to raise up generations of urban heroes—thousands of youth from the margins who have found their hope and purpose in Jesus.

They are transformational leaders who are emotionally, socially, and spiritually mature. Urban Heroes are not only transformed but transform others, creating ripple effects of change in their families, communities, and nation.

Their prisons and enterprise team provide a Christ-centred, holistic approach to break the cycle of crime and gangsterism amongst young people. They provide a support system from prison to reintegration through to employment, offering long-term care for each individual they work with.

The Message Enterprise Programme (MEP) offers skills training and development for men and women both in and out of prison. MEP also provides the necessary support and aftercare needed to help reintegrate individuals back into society upon release from prison.

This is only one of the amazing organisations that are available for assistance and help as an ex-offender. We need to make use of these organisations as they can assist those who want to change their lives around and live a life worth remembering—and it’s beautiful!!!!

All one really needs to do is make the vision and follow through with it, put aside your pride, and open your mind to change and trust in God. You won’t be sorry!

IT WORKED AND STILL WORKS FOR ME!!!!
